After Marquez Haynes, Panathinaikos seems ready to add another weapon in its backcourt, by signing NBA D-League superstar Elliot Williams.
As the Greek radio station Sport-Fm reported, the 26 year old combo guard is quite close to sign a deal with the Greek club. Elliot Williams was drafted by the Portland Trail Blazers in 2010 at the 22th spot. However a series of injuries never allowed him to compete at the level he could in the NBA.
In the D-league, Elliot Williams had a chance to shine. In 51 matches, he has scored 26 games and dished 7 assists per game. During the current season he averaged 28 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists.
