As it was officially announced, the NBA commissioner David Silver has chosen Pau Gasol to replace his injured Chicago Bulls teammate, Jimmy Butler in the Eastern Conference team roster, during the All Star Game in Toronto.

Since Butler has strained his knee and is unable to take a part in the festivities, Silver made the right choice with Gasol. This is the sixth time in which the Spanish center is named an All Star. In his current season with the Bulls, Gasol averages 17 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists per game.
