The president of Galatasaray has announced radical changes in the budget of the Turkish club, which will seriously affect the team in multiple ways.

During a meeting among Galatasaray‘s board members, club president mr. Dursun Ozbek said that next year the budget won’t be higher than 3 million dollars. Half from the 6 million dollars that were spent to build the roster of the current season.

The reason behind is seems to be the lack of any major sponsorship. According to Ozbek, the club finds it more and more difficult to find sponsors that will allow the team to preserve the desirable budget.

As you can probably understand, the need to win the Eurocup becomes even greater now for Galatasaray. It’s not only a matter of prestige or glory, but of getting a serious financial boost for the upcoming season, since it is the only way in which the team will play in Euroleague.
