During the last round before the Turkish Cup tournament, the duo that is leading in the standings was endangered, but ultimately not really hurt. Perhaps some lessons were learned, without any costs.

While Anadolu Efes (14-4) was always ahead of the score against Banvit (11-7), in Bandirma, coach Ivkovic’s players never really felt safe. Everytime they increased their difference, their opponents managed to fight back and reduce it, although never getting the lead. Thus, they never gained the psychological advantage that might have given them a clearer focus near the end. One that Efes put on court with a big 3 by Dario Saric and accuracy from the free throw line in the last minutes.

Fenerbahce (14-4) shows two different faces this year. One super strong in Euroleague and one that is definitely not so pretty in the Turkish League. Once again, coach Obradovic‘s players played with fire, this time against Konyaspor (6-12), but didn’t get burned and remain tied with Efes at the top.

At the same time Galatasaray (13-5) also faced some problems on the road versus Gaziantep (8-10) but won the match and held its position as third in the standings. Watching closely from the fourth place, is Pinar Karsiyaka (14-6) that did its job against Istanbul B.S.B (3-15).

Pinar Karsiyaka (Lazeric Jones 24 p.) – Istanbul B.S.B.: 90 – 81

Gaziantep – Galatasaray (Stephan Lasme 16 p. 8 r. 3 bl): 67 – 70

Buyukcemece (Michael Roll 17. 7 a.) – Trabzonspor: 75 – 71

Konyaspor – Fenerbahce (Bogdan Bogdanovic 20 p.): 68 – 72

Yesilgiresun (Dejan Ivanov 16 p. 10 r. 5 a.)- Ted Ankara: 90 – 87

Besiktas (Nate Wolters 14 p. 4 a.) – Turk Telekom: 83 – 80

Banvit – Anadolu Efes (Thomas Heurtel 16 p. 10 a.) : 87 – 92

In the last game we had two unique highlights:

The crazy 4 point play of Courtney Fortson:

Courtney Fortson with probably the craziest 4point play so far this season in Europe.

And Dusan Ivkovic being quite angry with Thomas Heurtel after one mistake of the French playmaker:
