Turkish Basketball Federation president Harun Erdenay spoke to the “Bumerang” TV show in Turkish TV2 channel about the rift between Euroleague and FIBA and also about the Yurtseven – Fenerbahce incident.
Erdenay can’t but support FIBA: “There will be confusion for 1-2 years. But in my opinipn FIBA will win that battle. FIBA is too strong. They are in charge of the referees and if they want, they will not send any referees to Eurocup”.
He also spoke about the Yurtseven-Fenerbahce incident: “The federation will support the teams that invest in young players. I think there is nothing wrong about it. If I were a board member of Fenerbahce, I would say “Okay he is going to NBA. We are proud of him because he is going there from Fenerbahce”, but on the other hand he is going there without a significant contribution to the senior team. If there is a growing fee to be paid as a buy out, then things will be more simple”.
