Α 16-6 run in the fourth quarter was enough for CSKA Moscow to beat Real Madrid on the road (87-96). This was the seventh win for the Russians (7-2), whereas the Spaniards suffered their fourth defeat (5-4).

For the winners, five players scored in double figures, with Kyle Hines having 16 points (on 7 of 9 shooting). On the other hand, Gustavo Ayon’s impressive double-double (20 points, 12 rebounds) couldn’t lead Real Madrid to an important victory.

In the beginning, the match was close, with both teams trying to take control of the game (11-11, 13-16), as the first quarter ended in a draw (18-18).

Later, the Muscovites managed to take a nine-point lead (30-39), however the Spaniards responded and cut the deficit to five, at the end of the first half (37-42).

In the second half, CSKA was retaining its advantage (44-50, 47-52), but the “Whites” tied the game (55-55) and were down by just two points, after 30 minutes in the game (62-64).

In the fourth quarter, though, Dimitris Itoudis’ team went on a 6-16 run, took a double-digit lead (68-80) and never looked back. Despite Real’s effort to make a big come-back (85-90), the visitors stood tall and claimed a crucial win on the road (87-96).
