With a decent performance in the fourth quarter, Gran Canaria beat Zielona Gora (82-93) on the road and now have the upper hand in the battle of qualification.

For the winners, Alen Omic had 20 points (on 8 of 12 shooting) and eight rebounds, while three more players scored in double figures. On the other hand, Dee Bost did his best for the losing squad (20 points, eight assists), but it wasn’t enough for his team to be victorious at home.

Both teams made a good start to the game (12-12), playing well offensively, with the visitors ending the first quarter in front by three (20-23).

Later, the Poles managed to tie the game (31-31) and outscored their opponents 29-21 in the second quarter to take a five-point lead, at the end of the first quarter (49-44).

In the second half, things didn’t change much. The visitors went on a 4-15 run and regained the lead (53-59), however Zielona Gora managed to cut the deficit to just two, after 30 minutes in the game (65-67).

In the fourth quarter, the Spaniards took over. Executing perfectly on both ends of the floor, they went on a 6-14 run to earn a double-digit advantage (71-81) and never look back.

In the remaining minutes, the situation remained the same (80-89), as the hosts couldn’t make a come-back and, consequently, the visitors claimed a big victory on the road (82-93), making a decisive step in their effort to qualify to the semi-finals.
