Speaking on the NOVASports TV station on Friday night, Laboral Kutxa’s leader Giannis Bourousis announced that he will play with the Greek national team in the upcoming pre-Olympic game.
While Vasilis Spanoulis has already retired and there’s a question about Nikos Zisis, Bourousis, the third of the old teammates since their days in the junior national teams, is ready for one last summer with the national team: “I have been part of the men’s national team since 2005 for 11 years. I will be there again, it will be a great honor to fight for a medal with the national team. We didn’t make it last summer and that hurt us a lot. I believe that I can give one more summer to the national team. Even if they need me for one minute on the court I will be happy, if we can achieve our goals. The national team doesn’t have contracts”.
Bourousis’ presence and his veteran leadership is expected to be a great asset in the new version of the Greek national team.
