AEK made it 1-1 in the series against PAOK for the Greek Basket League quarterfinals, by winning in Thessaloniki. Some hours before that ARIS had already checked its semifinals ticket, after eliminating Kifissia in the craziest way one could imagine.

In a game that will not be remembered for the quality of basketball that it was played, AEK defeated PAOK 68 – 59 on the road and reclaimed the home-court advantage, tying the series 1-1. The “black & whites” had been victorious in their teams’ first game, but were “suffocated” by the tough defensive behavior of their opponents.

Milan Milosevic (17 points, 10 rebounds) and Loukas Mavrokefalidis (14 points, 12 rebounds) were the best players of their team, each of them recording a double-double. The only player who scored in double-digits for PAOK was Kostas Vasiliadis, who dropped 12 points, but shot with 2/10 from the field.

Earlier, Aris became the first team to march in the semifinals by winning Kifissia 108 – 13 in Athens and sweeping the series 2-0. The match was ultimately judged in the second overtime… which was forced in a way for which… Shaq would be proud of, since Jermaine Marshall of Kifissia forced the second extra period by scoring in his own basket.

The duo of Dominic Waters (29 points, 9 assists, 6 rebounds) and Okaro White (27 points, 7 rebounds) was almost… dreamy for the guests, while Leonidas Kaselakis scored 24 points for Kifissia.
