The first half was a close affair, with Fenerbahce having just a four points lead (41-37). Galatasaray started the second half by tying the game at 41, but after that it was all about the hosts.
Fenerbahce got the easy 80-55 win and led even by 28 points (78-50) thanks to a 37-9 run after the 21st minute. Bobby Dixon led all scorers with 19 points, Bogdan Bogdanovic added 17 and signature buzzer beater three, while Kostas Sloukas also played a key role with 12 points and the right decisions on the court.
Galatasaray has a very short rotation with coach Ataman using mainly 7 players and Vladimir Micov leading the offense with 13 points. He was the only scorer in double digits for the guests. Fenerbahce has now a 2-0 advantage in BSL’s semifinal, but as Sloukas said after the game: “We played good defense, we were consentrated and in the end we got the win. Still Galatasaray is a quality team and I expect them to bounce back. Game 3 will be different”.
