Although the agent of Nicolas Batum had stated that his player (along with Evan Fournier and Ian Mahinmi) won’t play for France this summer, the name of the Charlotte Hornets‘ star appears in the preparation program that “Les Bleus” announced.
Patrick Beesley, the technical director of the French National Team explained the details of the preparation program in the official website of the French Basketball Federation. He mentions that the international players will join the team in groups, planned according to when they completed their season obligations with their clubs. Nicolas Batum is mentioned in the second group, along with Boris Diaw and Mickael Gelabale who will join the preparation camp on June 13th.
The French national team will participate in the Qualifying Tournament in Manila, Philippines, for a spot in the Olympic Games of Rio.
