Kevin Pangos of Gran Canaria is the new big target of Panathinaikos, as Eurohoops can reveal. The Canadian guard with the Slovenian passport who averaged 11 points and 4,5 assists per game in Liga Endesa can end up in Athens.

Born in 1993, Pangos is also on the transfer plans of Unicaja Malaga, but Panathinaikos had made a concrete offer for a total of 800.000 euros net for the next two seasons. The Greens are also ready to pay his -small – buy out to Gran Canaria in order to get the player, since Pangos signed last summer a two year deal.

After his first pro season in Spain, the former Gonzaga Bulldogs guard proved that he is mature enough and ready for the highest level of Europe. He was part of the second All-Eurocup team, one more sign that despite being a rookie, he was more than able to contribute big-time.

However, Pangos, despite being undrafted, wants to try his luck in the NBA summer leagues and chase a spot in the best league in the world. He is also expected to miss the pre-Olympic tournament of Manila and not play with the Canadian national team because of the same reason. Panathinaikos would like to secure his signature without including in the deal any NBA out and this matter is still a major point of debate between the two sides.
