Giorgos Printezis expressed his desire to close his career in Olympiacos when the time comes, in an interview he gave for Greek newspaper “Live Sport”.

“I have told my manager that no matter what offer arrives, Olympiacos has the first hand”, said Printezis. “There might be an interest from other teams, but I feel very good in Olympiacos. I wish to close my career in Olympiacos. The team fills me completely and I believe that my and my teammates have much to achieve”.

Regarding the failure of Olympiacos to make it to the Euroleague playoffs, the Greek power forward said that: “Many things played their part for this. Injuries, the fact that we were in a difficult Top 16 group. We were unlucky in some games. But we have to realize that nothing is granted in sports. You have to fight, be consistent and give your best every single time”.

Printezis also talked about Dimitris Diamantidis, who is now retired and Vassilis Spanoulis, his teammate in Olympiacos. “I wish the best for Diamantidis. It was a great joy for me to have him as teammate in the Greek national team, where we hanged out, but also as an opponent with Olympiacos. I hope he stays in the field of basketball and help in any way he wants”.

“He is a huge player”, he commented on Spanoulis. “One of the top in European basketball. We have a terrific chemistry in our game and I hope that we will be teammates in Olympiacos for many years”.
