The season in BSL is over and Turkey’s focus on basketball turns to the national team. The “Dev Adam” will have to qualify to Rio via the pre-Olympic tournament at Manila, Philippines, and Cedi Osman spoke about the challenge.

In an interview published by the Turkish Basketball Federation, Osman discribes his motive for the upcoming games: “We are aware that the road to Rio is not going to be easy. Every player’s deam is to play in the Olympics. We have very few time to prepare and we had no time to rest after the finals. We know, however, how much talent we have and our potentials. Our physical preparation will be crucial, but I think that the more important think is our mental preparation. Almost everyone has had a very tiring season in the league. We must be in our peak condition again”.

As for the upcoming preparation games against Greece in Athens and in Istanbul, Osman added: “We have two important exams in front of us, before our fans and in Athens. Greece is a very ambitious team. They are a goung team with very talented players. It will be a great test for us”. And this is just the start for the road for Turkey, which will co-host Eurobasket 2017. Osman adds: “We are excited to play such an important tournament in our own home. I believe that the team will be considered a favorite. We have a very good team and we have our audience behind us so we can achieve great things”.
