During a press conference about the pre-draft work out sessions of the team, Charlotte Hornets GM and executive vice president, Rich Cho also mentioned that re-signing Nicolas Batum is one of the top priority for the club.
“We hope to meet him as soon as the free agency starts” Cho said. “Our goal is to get something done with him”. The beginning of the free agency at July 1st, will find Batum in the Olympic Qualifying Tournament of Manila, Philippines where he will bolster the French national team’s efforts to get a ticket for the games in Rio.
27-year old Batum has been one major asset for the Hornets last year, averaging 14.9 points, 6.1 rebounds plus 5.8 assists per game in the regular season, and 11.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2 assists in five game of the playoffs.
