Spanish media had revealed in the recent past that the Cotonou passports of Andy Panko and Marcus Slaughter are “not authentic”. Now another case of forgery regarding a player’s documents was published regarding the passport of K.C. Rivers, former player of Real Madrid.

According to an exclusive report by “El Pais”, the certificate of authenticity for the American swingman’s passport was sealed and signed by a false consul. Rivers achieved the status of a Guinea Bissau citizen through documents that were signed by the country’s consul in Madrid. And here lays the problem.

Guinea Bissau has no consul in Madrid! Aldo Dario Herchhorer Naishat, the person who signed Rivers’ certificates achieved a passport of the African country in 2008 under “fraudulent conditions” and never renewed it since then. But more importantly he “never formalized the corresponding papers which gives international official title to the admission of consul by the Government of Spain”, as it is written in a document of complaint from the embassy of Guinea Bissau to Aldo Dario.
