Fotis Katsikaris signed a three-year contract with Lokomotiv Kuban. The winner of the “Coach of the Year” award in 2013’s Eurocup season has worked in Greece for many years with AEK and Aris and Spain with Valencia, Bilbao and Murcia. He has also been the coach of the Greek National Basketball team up to the Olympic Qualifying Tournament of Rio’s Olympics.
He’s been known for his success with Bilbao in the ACB league in 2011 as well as in Euroleague the following season, when Bilbao reached the quarterfinals and fell to CSKA.
In the coach’s words: I am happy to be a part of Loco’s family and I want to start as soon as possible to work with the team! Lokomotiv is an incredibly ambitious club. Last season it proved it all again by going to the Euroleague F4. Loco allows me to work as a coach at a high level in a professional atmosphere and with excellent support from the fans – it is very valuable!
