On Wednesday, the Australian Boomers are going to test their mettle against star-laden team USA, the indisputable favorite for the golden medal in the Olympic Games. And Andrew Bogut has quite the advice for his teammates.

“If we go out there and are we’re intimidated by them and trying to get our shoes signed before the game, and a signed jersey, then we’re in the wrong mind-set,” said the newly acquired Dallas Mavericks center in USA Today. “It (facing team USA) is the ultimate test. It’s the best team in the world, the best players in the world, so I think if we go out there with the right mind-set and compete with them, win or lose we’ll be happy with that.”

Does he truly believe that his fellow Boomers are going to be chasing their opponents for… autographs, prior to the game? “I hope it doesn’t happen,” he answered. “I’ve been on teams in the past where guys were asking for shoes before games and stuff, so you never know.”
