With big three after big three Carmelo Anthony not only became the first all time scorer of USA in the Olympic Games but also saved his team on the way to the 98-88 win over Australia.

Carmelo Anthony had 31 points on 9 out of 15 threes and surpassed LeBron James and David Robinson on his way to the top of the US scorers list in Olympics with 293 points so far.

The Boomers had a 5 points half time lead (54-49) and the score was tied at 72 with 8 minutes left on the game. They trailed by four entering the last two minutes (90-86), but at that point one more big three, this time by Kyrie Irving made the score 93-86 and sealed the outcome. That shot and a total of 21 offensive rebounds for USA were the keys.

Patty Mills (30 p.) and Mat Dellavedova (11 p., 11 as., 6 r.) had an amazing game, but it was not enough against the strongest possible opponent. Still this was the first time this summer that US had to fight until the end in order to prevail.
