The defeat of Lithuania by Croatia didn’t mean much in the big picture – except of course in the case of Argentina which ended up playing against USA in the quarterfinals – still coach Jonas Kazlauskas was furious with his players.

As he said after the game: “Some players should come down to Earth, because they had started to fly. Perhaps now they have landed. We started the tournament with three difficult victories and I think that we exaggerated about our abilities. They certainly overestimated and overrated themselves. Now there’s the chance to look things from a different angles”.

As for the game Kazluaskas added: “Our bench played as expected, but Croatia shot great. We allowed them to move freely. Jankunas did a good job in defense against Saric, but Kuzminskas failed to do so. It was then that we fell into a hole”.
