Despite the final score and the defeat of Spain just by six points by USA, Juan Carlos Navarro admitted that the Spaniards didn’t play their best and lost a good chance of winning.

As he explained: “Despite the final result, it was not a close game as we thought that it could have been. We lacked a bit of a clear head. We were kind of consfured and also the rebounds hurt us. Maybe it was not our best game and against them if you don’t do your best, things get complicated. I have the feeling of having lost an Olympic semifinal and I do not know if it was a historic opportunity or not. We have to recover and win the bronze. Leaving without a medal will be a great dissapointment”.

Navarro also talked about the referees who called five technical fouls in the first half: “I have not seen in my life anything else like the first half was so many “T”.  After that things have calmed and it has been a normal game as it should have been at all times. But we have not lost because of the referees”
