Malik Hairston is no longer a player of AEK. As the Greek club announced, the American player didn’t pass the medical examinations and was released according to the rules in his contract.
The 27-year old forward’s contract would normally end on 2017, yet his failure in the medical exams showed him AEK’s exit door earlier than expected. Hairston had arrived in the club on January 2015.
The club won’t enter an immediate search for a player who will replace Hairston in its roster. It’s primary focus right now is trying to strike a deal with Croatian guard Roko Leni Ukic.
AEK also announced that it has signed Greek forward/center Dimitris Haritopoulos to a one-year deal.
