The details of the deal between Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks are not yet know, however with an average salary of $25 million per season, the Greek freak from next summer is going to be the ninth best paid player of the league.
According to “Hoopshype” data, so far only 8 players are going to be paid better than Giannis in the 2017-18 season, when his new contract will kick in. Those eight players are LeBron James, Mike Conley, Russel Westbrook, James Harden, DeMar DeRozan, Kevin Durant, Al Horford, Carmelo Anthony, Damian Lillard and Chris Bosh.
Antetokounmpo’s salary will match the salary of Dirk Nowitzki – who is not in this list but his contract includes a $25 million team option for the 2017-18 season. Of course this annual salary is the biggest ever for a non US born NBA player and Giannis is going to be along with the German legend the best paid ever European basketball players.
