Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan and now… Kevin Garnett. With a video-post on his official Instagram page, the 40-year old power forward announced his retirement, becoming the third NBA luminary that bids farewell to his professional career in 2016.

Garnett had previously reached an agreement with the Minnesota Timberwolves to end his contract and become a free agent. The most likely scenario is that his second tenure with the team will be the last we saw him playing on courts.

Perhaps it’s a fitting aspect of his retirement. In a career that spanned for two decades, Garnett spent 14 years wearing Wolves‘ jersey, averaging 17.8 points and 10 rebounds per game. During the previous season he played 38 games for the team that drafted him back in 1995, scoring 3 points and grabbing 3 points per game.

We are “thankful” as well K.G.!

To be continued…
