Obviously overwhelmed by the highly warm welcome of the fans and everyone affiliate with Maccabi Tel Aviv, Anthony Parker couldn’t help but get quite emotional, when he addressed the crowd during his induction in the team’s Hall of Fame.
“Thank you so much”, said a visibly emotional Parker”I remember how it all started, with some guys who took a chance on a skinny kid from the US and let him play for this great club. I want to thank my teammates, it’s an honor to share this evening with the great coach Blatt, even though I won’t be cheering for him tonight. I want to thanks everyone. This is much more than I expected.”
The former American player who wrote history in Euroleague with the Israeli team mentioned that nights like this is what he misses about the years he spent on court.
“I want to thank everyone who put this evening together and most of all, I want to thank you guys, the fans. Everyone always asks what do I miss about not playing anymore, well it’s nights like this”.
