Three road victories today in VTB League and while two of them were, more or less, expected, the other was nothing less than an upset.

We are talking about the victory that VEF Riga accomplished against Khimki Moscow in Russia. With Alexey Shved still recovering from his injury and Jacob Pullen not participating in the game, coach Ivanovic’s team lacked firepower and solutions against its opponents. The Latvians delivered the right plays down the stretch, particularly by the hands of veteran Janis Blums.

Earlier, CSKA Moscow faced no problem vs Astana with Kurbanov assuming scoring responsibilities and Nando De Colo handling playmaking duties (plus dishing a magical assist) in the absence of Milos Teodosic.
