During the first quarter, Brose Bamberg scared Fenerbahce with a 22-18 lead and did the same on the buzzer, when Nicolo Melli lost the chance to win the game as the hosts got the narrow 67-66 win.

Fenerbahce started the season with a win, Bogdan Bogdanovic made crucial shots and finished the game with 18 points, while Vesely, Antic and Ekpe Udoh scored 10 points each. Still it was Brose Baskets which left an impression.

The German champs scored just 11 points in the second period and Fenerbahce got a 36-33 half time lead, but Brose Bamberg stayed in the game, trailing by 2 (53-51) at the end of the third quarter. Fenerbahce opened the final period with a 5-0 run (58-51) however also this advantage was not enough.

The guests once again got the lead (66-65) with 1,5 minutes left on the clock thanks to big defensive plays by Daniel Theiss and three free throws made by Darius Miller. Pero Antic answered (67-66), Darius Miller missed a three and with 25 seconds on the clock, Jan Vesely was fouled.

The Czech forward missed both his shots and Melli had the chance to win the game, but the Italian couldn’t hit the three he attempted on the buzzer.

For the losing side which almost upseted one of the main title contenders, Miller had 17 points and Nikos Zisis added 11.
