CSKA Moscow filed an official complaint to Euroleague for the behavior of Galatasaray fans in the Euroleague game between the two teams.

As CSKA Moscow president Andrey Vatutin said to Life.ru: “We sent to the Euroleague an official complaint, which describes everything that happened on the court and in the arena. Fans were throwning objects, like cigarette lighters and coins to the players and to our team personnel, while some of them hit our press officer . Actually, nothing particularly terrible has happened, this is just an other day in the office for European basketball, but our American center Jeff Ayres experienced a real culture shock”.

Vatutin added: “This is not the first in Istanbul, I remembered wha happned during the final four and also there are similar incidents in Greece, smokin in the arena and laser pointers aimed at the eyes of the players. Even in Spain I remember that Dmitry Shakulin who was serving as our coach, has to avoid an orange thrown to him. It should be understood that in those countries they really love basketball. Yes, sometimes this love is getting aggressive and even dangerous forms. But I would like the support at home games of CSKA to be also more noisy and aggresive”.
