The first transfer of Xavi Pascual to Panathinaikos will be Loukas Mavrokefalidis who is expected to return to the Greens after passing his medical tests.
The Greek center was released by AEK on August, talked with some other teams (getting close to Galatasaray) but it seems that he will wear the jersey of Panathinaikos once more.
Xavi Pascual knows him quite well, since they had worked together in Barcelona three years ago during the Liga Endesa playoffs. It was the Spanish coach’s suggestion to acquire such a player that would strengthen the team’s frontline immediately.
Mavrokeaflidis’ transfer will be completed if he passes the medical tests successfully, since his physical condition was the reason why Galatasaray didn’t sign him.
He has previously played for Panathinaikos in 2013-2015 before leaving for AEK where he spent the previous season.
