In today’s press conference for the creation of NBA Jr. leagues in Greece, NBA EMEA vice president Jesus Bueno addressed the reports regarding talks between commissioner Adam Silver and Real Madrid president Florentino Perez about the possibility of the “Blancos” becoming the 31st team in the league.

“Adam Silver, our commissioner, was in Barcelona a few days ago for the global games and he already said that we don’t see for now a conference. We don’t see for now teams from Europe playing in the NBA. Basketball is becoming more and more a global sport. Basketball is played all over the world. So we are going to increase the global experience, but we don’t see for now a European team playing in the NBA.”

“If in the future we consider the possibility, it would be through a conference in Europe and it would not be just about one team, but this will not happen in a short term.
