<Real Madrid crashed Olimpia Milano and grabbed yet another road victory with 90-101 as the Whites bounced back after losing to Baskonia.
In the beginning of the game, both teams focused on taking the ball inside the paint. For the hosts, Simon did a good job against Real’s big guys, with Ricky Hickman creating a lot of chances. The Whites were also efficient from inside the paint, and had a brief 20-26 lead after 10 minutes. In the second period, Real pushed harder in defense and decided to take the ball outside of the paint. Maciulis executed the hosts with his shooting, as Ayon contributed also. After 20 minutes, the score was 41-52.
In the second half, Milano stepped it up a notch in defense, though Real’s Hunter contributed a lot for his team in the low post. When Armani tried to get close in scoring, the Spanish team toughened up and allowed no more than a 5-point deficit between them. With 4 minutes left in the game, the Whites had grabbed a safe 10-point lead which eventually led them to the victory.
For the winners’ side, Randolph scored 20 points, while Hunter and Llull contributed 18. For Milano, Hickman led with 19.
