The Slovenian guard once again stole the spotlight thanks to his performance

With the 9 dimes he sent to his teammates in the victory of Real Madrid against Zaragoza, Luka Doncic tied Ricky Rubio’s record for more assists in a Spanish League game by a player under 18 years of age.

The Slovenian guard stayed on the floor for 22:43, and also scored 2 points (he took only two shots and shot two free throws), grabbed 4 rebounds and stole the ball four times, as the Madridistas beat their opponents 94 – 68, thanks to a phenomenal 57 – 31 partial score in the second half.

But it was his assist numbers that deservedly receive much praise. He was the top passer of his team in the match and once again something more than simply a secondary character in Real’s systems. Remember: All these, in 17 years of age.

Rubio, currently handling play-making duties in the Minnesota Timberwolves, had registered the above number on March 1st 2008, during a 84 – 75 road win of Badalona, his team back then, vs Bilbao.
