Minnesota Timberwolves‘ Ricky Rubio will be out indefinitely with a sprained right elbow.
The team announced late Monday night that an MRI exam revealed a sprain and no break. That means he is not expected to miss extended time with the injury, but will not be ready for the team’s home opener on Tuesday night.
The Spanish guard was injured in the fourth quarter of Saturday night’s loss to the Sacramento Kings. Rubio is an integral part of a young Wolves team trying to end a 12-year playoff drought. His veteran leadership, passing and defense are needed on a team that has started the season 0-2.
