Olympiacos managed to overcome the resistance posed by Aris Thessaloniki in the unfriendly atmosphere of “Nick Galis Hall” arena, winning 70 – 63 and staying undefeated in the Greek Basket League with a 5 – 0 record.

Guided by the strong double-double performances of Vassilis Spanoulis (13 points, 11 assists) and Khem Birch (10 points, 12 rebounds, 4 blocks), the Reds recovered from the mid-week Euroleague defeat by CSKA Moscow and now focus their attention to the upcoming match vs Galatasaray in Istanbul.

Tadija Dragisevic dropped 18 points for Aris’ (2-3) side.

With this result, Olympiacos remains at the first place of the Greek Basket League, tied with AEK, the only other perfect team in the championship. Coach Zdovc’s players easily defeated Rethymno  (3-2) at home thanks to a tight defensive second half where they received 28 points.

Panathinaikos (4-1) and PAOK (4-1) share the second place, after finishing this Round with victories as well.
