Things didn’t go as planned for Maccabi Tel Aviv during the first 30 minutes of the game against Ashdod on the road. Still, one super fourth quarter was more than enough to help them escape with a 72 – 66 victory.

It was the combination of DJ Seeley (13 points) and Guy Pnini (13 points) that helped Macccabi remain perfect in the Israeli Winner League, despite the efforts of ex “Yellow” Jake Cohen who dropped 16 points.

Ashdod began great, leading 24 – 17 after 10 minutes but Maccabi tightened its defense to start reducing this deficit. But ultimately, the answer came from the attacking efforts of coach Segev’s players.

With the score 49 – 48 and ten minutes to go, they scored 24 points while conceding only 17 to reach the final moments at an advantageous position. Maccabi is now turning its gaze to the difficult upcoming Euroleague battle vs Panathinaikos in Athens.
