Khimki is a Eurocup title contender and proved it again by beating on the road Bilbao (91-72). The quality of the guests was evident from wire to wire and things were quite easy.
With Alexey Shved scoring 17 points in the first half, Khimki had a 25-19 lead after 10 minutes of action and a 17 points advantage (51-34) at the end of the second period. Bilbao tried, but couldn’t react as Khimki was in cruise control for the rest of the night.
Shved finished the game with 23 points, Sergey Monya and Jacob Pullen added 14 points each. The captain of Bilbao, Alex Mumbru tried his best with 20 points, however the team of coach Dusko Ivanovic was simply better in everything.
