The first home victory for Darussafaka Dogus in this season’s Euroleague is a fact. Brad Wanamaker sank a 2-point jump shot with 31 seconds left on the game clock “killing” Brose Bamberg, and handling a nervous 72 – 70 win to his current squad.

After a quite balanced first half (40-40), Darussafaka played an excellent third quarter to march into the final period with the score 60 – 50. But coach Trinchieri’s players wouldn’t give up so easily, reacting with an 0 – 8 run in less than two minutes, to remain in hot pursuit.

Every time the hosts tried to get further, they were finding out that their opponents remained persistent. In fact, the German team not only tied the game 70 – 70, two minutes before the final buzzer, but lost some fine opportunities to get in front.

And then… Wanamaker “punished” them.

The American guard finished the match with 11 points being among his five teammates that scored in double-digit numbers. Will Clyburn paced the winners with 17 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and a crucial steal in the last minute that led to the game-winning basket. Dairis Bertans added 15 and Adrien Moerman 11 plus 9 rebounds.

Janis Strelnieks (14 points, 4 assists), Daniel Theis 13 points, Darius Miller (12 points, 6 rebounds) and Nicolo Melli (10 points, 10 rebounds) stood out from the losing side that suffered yet another quite narrow defeat, its fourth in the season so far.
