Zeljko Obradovic suffered his toughest loss with Fenerbahce up to date from Baskonia tonight and as one would expect, he was not at all pleased.

“Not so many times in my coaching life have I experienced something like what happened tonight. We played really really bad, we must recognize that Baskonia played an excellent game”, the coach truthfully admitted.

Fenerbahce showed a completely different face from what Obradovic expected. “Congratulations to them; they played very well, read very aggressive offensively and defensively. I tried to prepare my team for that, but everything we showed on court was absolutely different”

“If team keeps playing like we played tonight, it’s logical that the responsibility is on the coach”, he added.

Fenerbahce has a very demanding schedule ahead from now on: “It will be very interesting to see the players’ reaction now. We are playing against Galatasaray in Turkey, on Tuesday we play vs Maccabi in Tel Aviv and then Efes in Euroleague at home, and in Turkish league again. Very very tough.”

“There is something simple which I said to my players. They live in last year. Their mind is in the last season. Everybody will talk a little bit different about us. Because until now everybody was talking about Final Four, Euroleague… I tried to explain to my players that this season is different. 16 excellent teams. There will be difficult games, lots of trips and tough games.”
