Fenerbahce suffered its third Euroleague defeat in a row, falling to Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel. Last season’s finalists were pretty mediocre in the first 30 minutes and then their game took an utterly horrid direction during the fourth quarter, making them easy prey for the “Yellows”.

“Ι want to congratulate Maccabi Tel Aviv. They played a very good game,” said Zeljko Obradovic in the post-game press conference. “They were very aggressive. It’s their style. They tried to run and score many points in transition and we weren’t able to stop their game. Even if we talked about this before the match. Most of their points came by bad turnovers my players made.”

“To really understand the game you should look the statistics and find that we made 13 fouls. And Maccabi shot 15 free throws. This means that every foul was a free throw. We didn’t make good use of fouls even though we are a team with experienced players that have played lot of games together this year and last season,” he added.

“It was normal to lose by more than ten points given how things were for us in the second half. Congratulations one more time to Maccabi. It’s always nice to play here because people understand basketball,” Obradovic concluded before receiving questions.

When asked if his team is undergoing a crisis he smiled and joked, answering: “We will commit suicide tonight. Everybody”

On the absence of Bogdan Bogdanovic, Obradovic didn’t want to hide behind the Serbian guard’s injury: “It’d be an excuse if I talked about it. It’s not right. Initially everybody talked about a fast recovery. But he must rest for another 4-5 days.”
