Cedevita clinched a spot at the Eurocup Top 16 by narrowly beating Lietkabelis 69 – 68 on the road. It certainly wasn’t easy for the Croatians as the final score shows.
Even though their opponents had already advanced to the second stage of the competition. With the score 59 – 59 and less than four minutes left, Cedevita run a 2 – 8 partial score, getting an advantage down the stretch.
Lietkabelis didn’t give up making it 65 – 67 quickly, but two free throws by Marko Tomas, Cedevita’s top scorer with 22 points, sealed the final outcome.
Apart from Tomas, Marko Arapovic did a fine job, with 11 points and 6 rebounds, also delivering precious helps in the final minutes. Ksistof Lavrinovic (16 points) and Ben Magden (15 points, 9 rebounds) stood out for Lietkabelis.
