Zalgiris beat Brose Bamberg in Kaunas with 86-72 and improved to 3-6, while the Germans now stand at 2-7. Zalgiris‘ captain Paulius Jankunas scored 23 points and grabbed 9 rebounds, Kevin Pangos contributed 19 points with 6 assists while Leo Westermann added 10 more points.

In the beginning of the game, two of the most experienced players in the league led their teams respectively. Jankunas and Nikos Zisis were the offensive forces in the first quarter that ended 18-22 in the visitors’ favor.

The visitors lost their tiny lead during the second period, though Daniel Theis put them up by one before Zalgiris surpassed and started pulling away. Pangos hit a clutch three by the end of the period to send the Lithuanian team to the lockers with an 8-point advantage, 47-39.

After the break, the hosts were continuously ahead, even keeping double digit leads. Edgaras Ulanovas and Brock Motum contributed in offense, while Bamberg was running out of defensive solutions, especially for the hosts’ perimeter shooting. The score was 71-55 after 30 minutes.

Darius Miller reduced to 10 for the visitors at 32′, though they never actually returned to the game from that point. For Bamberg, Theis scored 15 points, Janis Strelnieks had 14 and Fabien Causeur finished the game with 12.
