Dogus Darussafaka was beaten in Athens by Panathinaikos, however the team of coach Blatt is a contender at least for the playoffs and has the ability to go far in the season.

Among a roster of high quality, the name of James Anderson, who in the past stole the show as a member of Zalgiris Kaunas, stands out. The American forward can be the key for his team and as he said to Eurohoops, Dogus Darussafaka has to play even smarter on crunch time in order to make things happen: “We have to pay attention on the details. The little small plays which can determine a game and we have to get those plays, we have to get 50-50 balls and make smart decisions. All our games have been close so it has been a little smart decision that will make you win or not win a game.”

Still Anderson does not want to speak big about the goals of the team: “We have the potential but as I said but we have to grow as a team, being smarter, making smarter plays and continue to believe and fight. But we definitely the potential to go a long way. Other teams are also playing in hard domestic leagues. We can have no excuses because the BSL is demanging. Turkish league is also another league that we try to achieve goals in and it is also a tough league that we have to play every night. There is no game that we are going to have a night off.”

And that includes also the next home game against Olympiacos. Anderson and Dogus Darussafaka want to send a message: “Definitely. We just have to get back on a winning track. We have to protect our home court, it is going to be a dogfight but we have to get another good win.”
