Nikola Vucevic praised Crvena Zvezda head coach Dejan Radonjic, remembering their cooperation in the Montenegrin national team and saying how glad he is for what he has accomplished with Crvena Zvezda.

“He is a hard worker. He knows how to get the most out of his players and raise their self-confidence,” Vucevic said in an nterview for Serbian Novosti.rs “He likes to give a chance to young people. Like he did with myself when I was young and many in Montenegro didn’t believe in me. I’m glad for his great success with Crvena Zvezda which is another proof of his coaching qualities. In difficult conditions, compared with the rest of European teams, Crvena Zvezda has managed to rise on a high level.”

The Orlando Magic center also talked about next year’s Eurobasket tournament. Montenegro is participating in Group C together with Spain, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary and hosts Romania.

“Spain and Croatia are the favorites in our Group. The rest of the teams will fight for the two places that lead to the next stage. It’s early for any kind of serious analysis and prediction, but by continuing our good work and having possessed knowledge and experience, we have a chance to finally make that step that we haven’t managed so far. And that is taking a place in the second phase of the Eurobasket.”

Vucevic was also asked about the current status of the Orlando Magic that are currently operating with a new coach. “The circumstances surrounding the team are different compared to last year. A lot of new players, a new coach (Frank Vogel) and therefore a new system. It takes time and work to build chemistry but we’re going in the right direction.”
