CSKA improved its record to 9-1 after beating Brose Bamberg on the road with 88-90. The German team fell to 2-8 in the standings after a valliant fight as Vitaly Fridzon gave to the champs the win with a buzzer beater.

Fridzon was the hero, but Milos Teodosic was the leader for the winning team scoring 31 points and handing out 8 assists. Nicolo Melli finished the game with 26 points for Brose Bamberg but in the end the only thing that matter was the two points missing from the hosts.

The German champs entered the game with two long distance shots by Nicolo Melli and Fabien Causeur respectively, though defense was the key for the first period. Both teams seemed reserved and the score after 10 minutes was 16-17. In the second period, the visitors could impose their own rhythm and outdid Bamberg with a partial 14-24 score, which sent the former to the lockers with an 11-point lead, 30-41.

Though the game was about to take a wild turn in the second half! The hosts were down by 17 at 22′ after Milos Teodosic fired a three-pointer, yet they managed to cover most of the deficit throughout the third period! CSKA allowed 28 points to Bamberg and only had a brief 58-61 lead after 30 minutes in the game.

Early in the final period, the hosts trimmed the deficit to one point with Nikos Zisis succeeding from the arch to make the score 64-65. At 36′ the hosts were able to tie the game at 77 points, with the pressure obviously on CSKA’s side this time. With the game on a knife’s edge, CSKA could get a one-point advantage which again turned into a tie at 86-86. Andrey Vorontsevich eventually gave a breather to the Russian team, then Fridzon won the game at the buzzer.
