Once again the coach of Brose Bamberg addressed certain game issues with… style.

Brose Bamberg lost yet another game during crunch time, now by CSKA Moscow with buzzer-beating jumper by Vitaly Fridzon deciding the outcome. Before the Russian player made said basket, Janis Strelnieks had managed to tie the match via free throws for the 88-88.

Things could have transpired differently in the match, if the foul the Latvian guard received by Milos Teodosic had been an unsportsmanlike one (as it was obviously the case, at least according to the new rules). Something about which Andrea Trinchieri was asked during the post-game press conference.

“Please… have mercy,” was his initial reaction to the journalist asking the question. “I don’t want to talk about referees because I’m like Pandora’s Box. And I don’t want to be like this. This is a tough league and every game is extremely tough. It’s very hard to be ready in every game. For the coaches, the players and the referees. Don’t take me wrong, your question is quite correct, but I don’t have the energy inside me to address these things. I’m empty. I have such a feeling in every game. But let’s keep Pandora’s Box closed.”

The Italian coach also added that: “As a coach I have to be proud for second half and the way we played against the European champions. But still, I’m not blind. And some things cost you the game. It’s obvious that we don’t have the same goals with CSKA. But still, I believe that when you build an opportunity with a great effort you must try more.”
