While Crvena Zvezda‘s (14-0) almost ruthless superiority makes things a bit less than exciting at the peak of ABA League, the battle in the next spots of the standings remains quite thrilling.

It was in such a manner that Cedevita beat Buducnost on the road to mix the blend a bit and climb at the…overcrowded third place of the standings. After a fascinating match, the score was 84 – 84 with 14 seconds to left and the Croatians’ had the possession. The ball went Marko Tomas found just the right amount space he needed to make a small dribble and the jump-stop shot that gave his team victory.

Quite the play by the experienced Croatian, no?

This result creates a three-way tie at the third place among Cedevita (10-4), Buducnost (10-4) and Cibona Zagreb (10-4) that easily defeated Igokea  (7-7) at home. Partizan (11-3) received Cedevita’s win with a smile, since it makes them sole holders of the second spot in the ABA standings. Coach Dzikic’s guys had done their job vs Mornar Bar (4-10), showing character after one of their biggest wins of the season, mid-week vs Besiktas for the Champions League.
