Fabien Causeur (17 points) began the job for Brose Bamberg in the first half and Darius Miller (20 points) completed it in the second as the Bavarians comfortably defeated Olympiacos 82 – 68 at home, improving their Euroleague regular season record to 5-9.

A sloppy throughout most of the game Olympiacos, saw its winning streak after Maccabi Tel Aviv getting a stop at 4 – 0, and its overall record is 9 – 5.. The Reds were forced to one of their worst games of the season by the brilliant defense of their opponents plus the fiery action of the two aforementioned Brose Bamberg players.

Causeur dropped 17 points, all in the first half, being the basic motor behind his team’s crucial 18-point halftime advantage. The two teams went to the locker rooms with the score 48 – 30, numbers that perfectly portrayed the quality difference in their performances.

The Greek squad came back transformed to the better on both ends. Coach Sfairopoulos’ guys entered the third quarter with a 0 – 6 run and then kept pushing until cutting the deficit to 9, 59 – 50. Vassilis Spanoulis (15 points, 4 assists) and Kostas Papanikolaou (11 points, 8 rebounds) were focal points in that period for Olympiacos.

There was still some fire burning in the Reds’ camp, but Darius Miller was there to put it out for good.

Bringing some A-level shooting from all corners, the American forward sank one bucket after the other, being unstoppable even when the opposing defense decided to pay attention to him. Miller scored 12 points in less than six minutes, catapulting his team’s lead to double-digit numbers (75 – 58) and dropping a total of 15 in the final period. From one point Brose Bamberg made Olympiacos looke helpless, reaching the final moments of the match without feeling any actual danger.
