Murcia grabbed the first victory in the second stage of an international European competition in the franchise’s history after beating Fuenlabrada 87 – 75 for Eurocup Group E.
With Facu Campazzo (18 points, 9 assists) dictating his team’s game beautifully and Billy Baron (17 points) plus Vitor Faverani (16 points, 5 rebounds) slicing through the opposing defense, coach Quintana’s players controlled the game from start to finish.
Fuenlabrada never recovered from the…14-0 shock that struck them in the beginning of the match and never became actually threatening even though they had approached their hosts a bit at halftime.
Ivan Paunic (22 points) and Blagota Sekulic (12 points) were the only players scoring in double digits from the losing squad.
