Zenit St. Petersburg scored triple-digit numbers for a third consecutive game and fifth overall in this season’s VTB League to outplay Astana 105 – 82 on the road.

This win elevates Zenit at a 10-3 record allowing them to catch up with Unics in the third place of the standings. Meanwhile, Astana falls to 6 – 7 and is currently seventh.

Coach Karasev’s players did most of the job in the first half, going to the locker rooms with a 39 – 58 advantage at halftime which proved to be more than enough.

Ryan Toolson scored 24 points for the winning side and Janis Timma 21. With 22 points and 4 assists, Rob Lowery was the top performer of Astana while Roderick Odom added 17 and 7 rebounds.

In the meantime, VEF Riga grabbed its seventh victory in the season by beating Nizhny Novgorod 81 – 74 in Russia behind 19 points and 4 assists by veteran Janis Blums.

DeAndre Kane dropped 21 points and grabbed 5 rebounds for Nizhny that is struggling at a 3 – 9 record.
