In the Turkish ‘clasico’, Fenerbahce prevailed over Galatasaray at home 85-80 and improved to 13-7 in the standings, while the latter fell to 6-14.

Jan Vesely led the winners with 20 points and 7 rebounds, while Bobby Dixon contributed 17 more. Bogdan Bogdanovic and Luigi Datome shared 14 points each.

Sinan Guler (17 points) took charge early in the game for Ergin Ataman’s team, while he hosts weren’t nearly as efficient in shooting. After 10 minutes, Fenerbahce was down 19-27.

Blake Schilb (21 points, 7 assists) made it an 11-point game at 14′, placing Galatasaray ahead 31-42. The deficit started rising for the visitors and they managed to lead 41-54 at halftime.

Entering the second quarter, Guler gave his team a 15-point advantage, one that they didn’t manage to keep. The hosts trimmed the deficit with Vesely and Dixon leading the way for Zeljko Obradovic‘s team. After 30 minutes, the score was 64-66.

Datome tied the score at 73 points at 35′ and the game was set to be a thriller until the end. Vesely put Fener again in the leading position, 79-78, then Dixon hit a three and Micov destroyed the visitors’ chances to win the game with a foul on Vesely.
